The waiting is over for thousands of rural women. The distribution of free cows and buffaloes under Phase II of the CM Punjab Livestock Support Programme has started from 20 October 2026. If you applied for this scheme, this guide tells you how to check your name, what you will receive, and what to do before you go to collect your animal.
Animal Distribution Has Started
The Livestock and Dairy Development Department has begun the distribution of animals among the selected women of Phase II. The selection was completed through a transparent electronic balloting on 14 October 2026, which was run on the PITB digital system and inaugurated by Provincial Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani.
In the first phase of this programme, 9,255 animals were distributed among widowed and divorced women in South Punjab. Phase II continues the same mission with a budget of Rs 3 billion, so that more deserving women can earn a living from their own livestock. We have already published the full result details in our livestock balloting result report.
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Programme | CM Punjab Livestock Support Programme, Phase II |
| Total applications | 75,666 |
| Approved after verification | 15,396 |

Who Will Receive the Animals
Only the women selected in the 14 October balloting will receive animals in this round. The department received 75,666 applications, the Urban Unit verified them, and 15,396 applicants qualified for the balloting. The electronic draw then selected 3,304 women.
The programme is made for deserving rural women, especially widows and divorced women of South Punjab. If you did not apply in this phase, you cannot receive an animal now, and the government has not announced any new registration for this programme yet. You can read about the scheme background in our free livestock scheme phase 2 article.
How to Check Your Name on the Official Portal
Your selection can be checked online in one minute. Open the official balloting portal, enter your CNIC number, and complete the CAPTCHA. The portal will show whether your name is in the selected list or not.
Never trust a list sent on WhatsApp or Facebook. Many fake lists are shared during such distributions, and only the official portal record is true. Checking on the portal is completely free.
- Step 1: Open the official portal attrw.punjab.gov.pk/Balloting.
- Step 2: Enter your 13-digit CNIC number in the box.
- Step 3: Type the CAPTCHA code shown on the screen.
- Step 4: Press the search button and read your result carefully.
- Step 5: If you are selected, note down the details shown and wait for the department’s instructions for your district.
What Each Selected Woman Will Receive

Every selected woman will receive one free animal, a cow or a buffalo, from the department. The animal is a productive asset: its milk can be used at home and sold in the market, giving the family a regular income.
Along with the animal, each selected woman will also receive a one-time grant of Rs 5,000 for the animal’s care expenses. This assistance is provided through a debit card issued by the Bank of Punjab, so keep your card and its details safe when you receive it.
| What You Receive | Detail |
|---|---|
| Animal | One cow or buffalo, free of cost |
| Care grant | Rs 5,000, one time |
| How the grant is given | Bank of Punjab debit card |
| Any fee or charge | None |
Screening and Verification Before Handover
Selection in the balloting does not mean the animal is handed over without any check. The result is subject to screening and verification, and the department will confirm your record before the final handover.
This step protects the programme from mistakes and fraud. If your documents or record do not match, the department can hold the handover, so make sure your CNIC details are correct and your record is clear before you go.
District Lists: What Is Available So Far
District-wise lists of selected women have been published so far for five districts: Multan, Khanewal, Rajanpur, Lodhran, and Vehari. Women of these districts can find their names in the published lists as well as on the official portal.
For the other districts, the lists and collection schedules are being shared step by step. The department has not announced one single collection point for the whole province, so do not travel to any office only on a rumour. Follow the official portal and your district livestock office for your turn.
Documents and Things to Carry
When your turn comes, go prepared so that your work is finished in one visit. Your original CNIC is the most important document, because the whole record of this scheme runs on your CNIC number.
Keep your mobile phone with you, because official messages about the distribution are sent by SMS. If the Bank of Punjab has issued your debit card, carry it as well.
- Your original CNIC.
- A photocopy of your CNIC.
- Your mobile phone with the SIM registered on your own CNIC.
- Your Bank of Punjab debit card, if it has been issued to you.
- Any SMS or message received from the department about your selection.
If Your Name Is Not in the List
Do not lose hope, and do not pay any person who promises to add your name. Nobody can change the balloting result, and anyone demanding money for this is a fraud.
Many approved applicants could not be selected because the number of animals is limited. More phases of such programmes are announced from time to time, so keep your documents ready and follow the official announcements only.
